We were shite second half but spurs are a good side. First half we had a number of good positions but the final ball just let us down.

I’m not getting all the negativity about top 4, we’re still 3rd and out of the top teams we’ve only got Utd and Chelsea left to play. 2nd is still well within our reach.

What is the actual rule here because it's pretty fucking crucial given that the linesman clearly knew he was offside and the penalty was solely given because of Lovren's touch

According to Dermot Gallagher, yeah I know, the rule is that once Lovren touches it the original offside is no longer relevant and the ball is back in play. Must say I've never heard it clarified quite like that before but surely he's not going to go on telly with time to review the decision then get the rule completely wrong, is he?

The gif's been posted in the thread and Sky have shown it about 10 times since it happened. I'm afraid you just don't know what you're talking about, and calling it a "boot" seals that.

Give it a rest. Even on here people are split on whether it was a foul or not. It’s not definitive even with that clip.

No, I'm saying that it would be pretty magical for that van Dijk hoof to have not touched him but for him to have gone down clutching the exact part of his leg where it would have contatced him seeing as he wasn't even looking at him at the time.

Haha, go watch it lad, you're making a tit of yourself.

Van Dijk has clearly pulled out of the challenge, his foot never even touches Lamela. His knee kind of brushes his lower back as he pulls out.

Depends how the players respond. They look tired. Salah and Mane will need to be absolutely on it, or every game will be a total dogfight. There’s too little verve and skill coming from the rest of the pitch. Lots of games against deep lying teams could be a nightmare for us.

If he's thrown himself backwards and fallen to the floor playacting, I don't think he's going to be arsed about correct anatomical clutching. He'll clutch wherever he feels is to best effect. Like players who get an arm across their upper chest and go down clutching their face.

Didn't get to see the game and only caught the brief highlights on the news. From that it is hard to gauge how the game went. Salah took his first goal well and was brilliant with the second. Our players were caught ball-watching a little bit for Wanyama's goal (which 99 times out of a 100 will fly high and wide, just like that goal Jagielka got a few years ago). The first penalty should not have been given as the officials fucked up an obvious offside call, and the second looked soft. Lamela was obviously milking whatever contact there was (and Spurs' players have a habit of leaving a trailing leg and milking contact) from Van Dijk, but Van Dijk's moment of hesitance didn't help him either.

We need to be streetwise to fuck in this game today. Every time they come near our players we should be going to ground and picking up free kicks (and the odd yellow) wherever we can. Watching them against the mancs the other day and they dominated them with ease so we need to be cute here as these fucks will be throwing themselves all over the place when they get near our box and we can’t afford to be letting Erikson get within range.

Told yer

Lovren's touch backwards was accidental so the Offside counts.  Amazing how the Linesman was to much of a shithouse to enforce the actual rule with the ref in front of him but happy to rob us with VVD when it worked against us.

OK then, "lad". Interesting though that Lamela goes down clutching his calf when it would have been a better bluff to hold his back seeing as that's the only contact in your opinion.

We stuffed them the first half (Mane and Firmino not quite at the races or we could have had another) - second half they swapped Alli into the center and moved Son between the lines and ran the show. We had no idea how to counter that.

A point is a good result tbh.
