He really adds to the mix in the front four. His pace, ability to take a man on, and obvious eye for goal, will help loads this season. I loved the part late on where he beat about three Barcelona players with pace and dribbling. He took them on and went straight at them. Lovely stuff.

 

When the Gotze deal fell through I wasn't too bothered as even though he's a good player, he's not different enough to what we already had at the club in the final third. Mane is. The variety and depth we have up front looks very good.

He reminds me of Douglas Costa. I wasn't happy with him signing for the fee but it's clear to see from even the small sample size of games this pre season that there's something special about him.
