Genuinely saddened by this. The Duke De Richleau finally faces his greatest mystery.

When I was a kid I was allowed to stay up and watch the Hammer films that they'd show on telly every Friday night. Would be waiting for my dad to come in from his pub night with a portion of chips to share between him, my mum and me. And watching Lee's Dracula, Cushing's Van Helsing and Oliver Reed's werewolf. Not to mention the initiation into the heady world of female nudity and lesbianism courtesy of Ingrid Pitt and Madeline Smith.

Not forgetting Kate O'Mara.

Ha, exactly the same in Emlyns household, dad back from the ale house with chips to share while we watched the Hammer films. Great days.

Found this today when reading stuff about the man. An interesting life for sure.

From Peter Jackson’s DVD commentary: “When I was shooting the stabbing shot with Christopher, as a director would, I was explaining to him what he should do… And he says, ‘Peter, have you ever heard the sound a man makes when he’s stabbed in the back?’ And I said, 'Um, no.’ And he says 'Well, I have, and I know what to do.’”

The word legend is overused these days, but sometimes somebody comes along, and the more you hear about them the more you realise that they are deserving of that particular sobriquet. This is one such occasion.
