Heinz Cream of Tomato soup with some chopped up chorizo, mushroom, red onion and pepper in is the fucking king of soups. It sits upon it's throne like Ming the Merciless without Flash Gordon poking his salmon faced grid into proceedings.

Putting mushrooms in Heinz Tomato soup should see your nose pulled off by badgers & you sent to Slough or somewhere to spend the rest of your days.

Fucking disgusting chat.

Why the fuck do you Kiwis call it a stupid name like Kumara

What's wrong with Sweet Potato?

Weird

It's a particular type of sweet potato, native to Aotearoa and 'Kumera' is it's Maori name.

Sorry guys, I assumed that Kumera would be flooding into Blighty (globalisation and all that jazz) but as the story goes, to assume is to make an ass of u and me.

Feel free to substitute sweet potato!!

I did a proper traditional pea and ham last week, the kind that makes you fart for three days after you eat it.  Perfect for winter nights, cheap as hell too, the whole panful cost about a fiver and I have (no shit) about five pints of it left in the freezer to either take into work for lunch, or for a home-cooked tea that I can sort out in 5 minutes and has virtually no washing up.  Nice bit of bread with that, lovely stuff.

Tonight I'll put together one of my favourites, carrot and coriander. Quick, cheap, delicious and impossible to fuck up. That should get us through the weekend.

Want to appear sophisticated whilst actually being a cheap bastard? Cook this amazing soup

If you don't have any veggies to feed, replace the olive oil with goose fat, cook a lad of lardons in it, remove the lardons ANC cook the soup as described, add god lardons back in at the end

Finally run out of Christmas left-overs, except for the goose liver that may possibly kill me. Made a Broccoli and Stilton (blue cheese anyway) soup to ease my stomach into less food whilst still being quite rich.

Keep a little bit of the broccoli to one side and add after blending. Stir in and melt cheese after blitzing, despite what recipe says
