I don't get the split definition that's being made about poor manager but good coach. If anything the players are playing like they recieve no coaching, they look clueless can't play basic football or apply basic skills, mentally they look very weak.

Yep. I think our squad is dead average, lacking in general footballing talent, athletic ability, and mental strength, so it's not as if Rodgers has an enormous amount to work with, but there are two major problems he is accountable for:

 

(a )he is not getting the squad playing with a structure and purpose. This can be achieved with any level of player.

(b ) he sanctioned the purchase of a lot of the mediocre players we have

manquillo is no better than johnson although hes only beginning his career

 

moreno scored a wonder goal against spurs and that sort of bursting forward with the ball at pace seems to be his best attribute. defensively he fits in well with the rest.

 

can has had a lot of injuries but was our best player against Chelsea and is left out of the next game which in my mind is one of the problems. players who do well are not retaining their place so wheres the incentive. far too much chopping and changing. too many players and jo idea how and when to use them.

 

lallana has shown glimpses but again hes in and out of the team. him and lambo need to stay in til jan.

 

markovic gets a game here and a game there but its almost the same as with lambert, if he doesnt make a sensational impact in the game he starts he wont play again for a month.

 

balotelli does not fit in to the way we are trying to get back to playing and we dont seem to be able to play to whatever his strengths are which has been a recipe for disaster.

 

lambert was only going to get starts if sturridge and balotelli got injured. thats happened now and he got his first goal yesterday but should have had at least one more. deserves at least the run of games balotelli had.

it's a point that was lost amongst the grumbling yesterday, but Lambert missed an absolute sitter yesterday.  Haven't seen it on the telly, but it looked easier to score - I think it was Allen crossed the ball in

he should have nodded in skrtels cross goal shot too.

 

at least he scored and should be allowed to build on that
