I remember Smicer's form picked up when Kewell was given the 7. Someone suggested that wearing 11 gave Smicer better balance.

That's pretty much why I gave everyone 3 votes.

 

There are some pretty awesome players on that list, but I still think Dalglish would be a unanimous winner.

Dalglish, Keegan, Beardsley. In that order. Fucking close for that third spot though. If the wind was blowing a different direction it could have been any one from 3 or 4.

 

Suprised I'm the first vote for Beardsley though.

The incredible thing was that Keegan was an out-and-out superstar and the guy that replaced him, Dalglish, was even better.

The real triumph was Bob Paisley's judgment. Impeccable. Peerless.

 

I put Callaghan third because he played one or two more games than Suarez and Beardsley.
