So if you go for a walk in the centre of a city and get stabbed to death, this is ‘on you’. You should know that there is a risk of that happening, even if there shouldn’t be. Great logic.

it is a measure of risk. like crossing the road. some things are unlikely to happen. some things have a much greater chance of happening. however we all need to take those risks as they are part of daily life.

i personally would compare it more to the life of a squaddie. if you join the military, you know there's a fair chance your government will use you as canon fodder in an unjust war. does it make it right? No, of course not. But it would seem part of the job. Most people who take a job like that have little choice - for instance one of my best mates has been in the military for 20+ years. he was in the family business before that - drugs. So he measured the risks of both lifestyles and felt the military gave him better life chances and fortunately that has worked out despite being sent to several unjust wars. Benitez didn't need to make those choices. He knew taking this job he would be a target for their lunatic fringe - this is something exclusive to him because of his history with us and something he could avoid by taking pretty much any other job in football. It wasn't "it might happen". It absolutely would and did before he even signed. The big difference here is Benitez had choices, he didn't need to do it but did it anyway. As I have said countless time - I am not apologising or excusing their behaviour. That is on them too. But Rafa knew the risks and just didn't give a fuck - for that I have no sympathy for him, I am just not arsed.

Anyway - apologies to everyone. For the 2nd time, this is my last post on this.

paul joyce] Richarlison has suffered tear to the muscle in his calf and will be out for a number of weeks for Everton. Andros Townsend has a small fracture in his foot and will see a specialist. In addition, Seamus Coleman suffered bone bruising and soft tissue damage

I fear for them, I really do.

I think Rafa might have thought he has the ability to turn them around. They didn't make a bad start and he has been hampered by injuries no doubt about it. Problem is, them cunts wanted success right away and the first signs of a wobble was always going to result in them blaming him over everyone else. Everton could bury a time capsule for schoolkids to open in 100 years, in 50 years an asteroid could twat the planet so hard that when you float past a blue in orbit they'll be shouting "See, it's always fucking you lot the sky went red as soon as that thing entered the earths atmosphere them kids didn't stand a chance when it came to you merdering bastards making it all about you it's always the fucking same take take take that's why Klopp robs food left for the homeless in Tescooooooooooooooooo."

Late to this but you're talking crap, Barry. Whatever you think of a manager, attacking his family on social media is reserved for idiots. To suggest that is on someone for taking a job is nonsense.

It's not 'on Rafa' but he cannot be surprised that this stuff is happening given how 'welcome' his linking to the job was,let alone his appointment. Is the Wirral that isolated from Everton loons?

Of course it's on him. They're fucking mental and he knows it. It doesn't excuse them, but it's like saying I'd take my kids to a war zone so they can soak up the atmosphere. Him going there was going to end this way unless they were successful. As he hasn't won a thing in years, they haven't for 26,  they're skint and they were never going to give him a fair crack of the whip, then it would seem it inevitable that the conclusion of this job at some point would bring out at least one of their dickheads. The verbal abuse of one of his daughters on social media has already begun. We all knew that would happen before he took the job, I'm sure he did too. So it's on him.

Everything we do in life is about measuring risk, be that driving a car, crossing a road or whatever. It includes taking a job that is likely to bring unstable people to your doorstep.

War zone?????? fucking hell

you are using the same logic as a fuckwit who says a woman deserves to be raped for wearing a short skirt and going out at night.

I don't have a strong opinion on Rafa because I was a kid when he managed us, but he's doing a horrendous job and absolutely anyone would have predicted him going to Everton wouldn’t end well.

Obviously if he's getting threatened, that's not appropriate, but you can't feel bad for him objectively. He knew going in they hate him and he'll make millions when they sack him.

Some of his business with the constraints he had has been coherent and they have loads of injuries, but he's become a loser. The vibes are bad.
