bellamy....???? ffs would sooner have robbie keene...

Out of all the names that are being thrown about I reckon Arbeloa could be one of the more realistic ones. I think in the 2/3 years he had at the club you could count the number of poor games he had on one hand. If he'd leave Spain again or not I'm not sure, but I'd take him back in a heartbeat.

As good as Arbeloa was, We've already got plenty of Right backs, Unless we are thinking of signing him and playing Johnson Left back, but then we are supposedly close to signing Enrique.

Alonso would be far too expensive surely, and wouldn't make much sense unless it was some kind of swap deal involving Meireles.

as good as he was at right back Arbeloa was even better at left back for us imo a trend that appears to have continued from what i've seen of him at Real

This has to be the worst piece of journalism of the summer. Absolutely shocking and contradictory

Liverpool eye Lucas Biglia Anderlecht cut-price replacement if loan Lucas Leiva out following arrival three new midfielders - Transfer News - MirrorFootball.co.uk

Liverpool are eying Argentine holding midfielder Lucas Biglia as a possible replacement for Lucas Leiva.

Brazilian ace Leiva, 24, was the Reds' player of the season last term and penned a big-money new deal in March.

But boss Kenny Dalglish may loan him out after bringing in expensive midfielders Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing this summer.

If Leiva does go, Liverpool will need a cut-price replacement to deputise and protect the back four.

Biglia plays for Belgian side Anderlecht after joining from Argentina's Independiente in 2006.

He helped Argentina's Under-20 team win the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship, alongside Lionel Messi, and played for the senior side in this summer's Copa America.

The 25-year-old is believed to be keen on a move to England, and particularly Merseyside, after getting rave reviews about the Anfield club from pal and former Reds midfielder Javier Mascherano.

I always thought he struggled a bit on the left side, especially going forward.

Of the two I'd rather have Johnson on the left and Arbeloa on the right.

I know that Arbeloa wasn't prepaired to sign a new contract so we had to get what we could for him off Madrid (dry-rimmed again!). But I thought one of the worst decisions that was made by the powers that be was to replace Arbeloa with Glen Johnson at a deficit of 13 million quid. Particularly at a time when the little money we had could have been spent better. Arbeloa is a much better defender than Glen Johnson, but you have to say that Glen Johnson is more of a threat going forward. As a left back I'd plump for Arbeloa, just my opinion and I know opinions vary!

I saw an interview with him where he said different.

It was along the lines of Johnson was coming in, the club weren't forthcoming with a deal and he was told to speak to Madrid.

Might be positive spin from him but he also was saying how much he loved it here too.

My mate is a West Ham fan and just came up to me in work and said that they have made a £4 million offer for Ngog' date=' has anyone heard anything ?[/quote']

No, but I think N'Gog would clean up in the Championship and would benefit majorly from playing regular football.

Do it, David. You know it makes sense.

I was always under the impression he wanted to go back home........sounds promising (if we are interested of course)

For me, if there was any substance in the former Red coming back whispers, Bellamy would tick every box in terms of quality and affordability. And rightly or wrongly, I don't think City look on us as rivals right now so I doubt they'd care where he went.

They might think that the more teams can take points off chelsea, arsenal and the other mancs, the better.

I wouldn't mind Bellamy back as a backup striker.
