He had a bad first half but scored. He had a better second half and didn't.

 

Olsson in the first half had him in his pocket; I don't think Carroll won anything in the air. The goal clearly gave him confidence and he showed some glimpses of what he can do.

 

Hopefully he will take it into the Swansea game next week. I’m still not convinced at all though.

Played well today, full of running and was involved in everything we did. Spent his time in the right areas and not pulling deep and wide as has happened often this season. Still very much a work in progress, but I honestly believe that a run of games will see him come on leaps and bounds. When he learns how to integrate better himself in to the team and his teammates learn how to get the best out of him we'll be a lot better for it.
