Aquilani will never be a central midfielder in this league while he has a hole in his arse by the way. There is a chance he could play behind the striker, but Cole is better.

Why would Roy send a player out on loan when you can't replace him?

 

The fact is if Cole or Gerrard pick up an injury/ban we're back to the 2 holding midfielders that failed so miserable last season. Cole already has a 3 match ban, so it's same old really.

Aquilani is too much of a risk to name as one of 17 foreign players in a 25 man premiership squad. He is simply too injury prone and lightweight to play as a midfielder in the premiership.

In my opinion he is a better player than either lucas/poulson or cole.
