Degen - Shit and very expensive

Insua - Cannot defend

Aurelio - Decent, but broken

Lucas - One dimensional

Babel - Shit, but hasn't got the mentality we need anyway

Agger - Talented, but broken

El Zhar - Why is he still on our books?

Plessis - Oh dear

N'Gog - Not talented enough to get away with lacking genuine pace or strength as he does.

Aquilani - Disastrous signing who will depreciate further; cut our losses now.

Maxi - Huh?

 

PERSEVERE WITH:

 

Riera - Can do a job, but I'd sell for our money back.

Kuyt - Ditto, but his basic deficiencies are infuriating, regardless of his great attitude and effort.

Skrtel - Ditto Riera; he's over-rated though, as well as rash and occasionally clueless.

Kyriakos - Has surprised me and he can clearly fill a gap, but he's ultimately not Liverpool quality. I'd sell for our money back.

Johnson - It's early days yet and he could blossom under a new man; he's certainly very talented on the front foot, but his fitness has been poor and he's looked lacking in confidence apart from those first half dozen games or so when he was on fire.

These players should fill in the gaps in the squad and be given the chance to prove themselves. Basically we should use them the way The Mancs use their youngsters - they either slowly establish themselves or they go, but either way they get games.

why don't just get rid of Rafa?? And maintain the same set of players...except for Kuyt, Lucas and the Greek guy. Promote Kelly, Spearing and Pacheco and Nemeth to first team.

Money from Kuyt,Lucas and Greek guy - get Turan or other creative player

Nett spending - compesation for Rafa..

 

IMO, Rafa is a good manager but he is not flexible enough to navigate the Premiership which have quite a lot of different styles of play compared to La Liga. Put Daglish as interim manager...and see whether we can play better football .

For those who criticise Degen - it's unfair..clearly he has confidence issue due to injuries and lack of playing time. He's quite fast..and surely can be more of a threat on the right flank if utilised correctly. I would prefer him to Kuyt...even I would prefer El Zhar compared to Kuyt..

How can we say that he's our best defender this year?? HOw many games has he played??? Except for that 1 goal...his game is totally rubbish. No pace , for a tall guy - he's not on Hyppia's level in aerial battle, his passing often wasteful , his clearing on par with carra..which is s**t.

 

Our best defender this year...clearly Agger when he's free of injuries.
