is what, according to my son's schoolteacher, Noos jnr has today put into a search engine on one of the school's computers. He's eight years old. I'm very proud.

That said, the school, a CofE primary, have gone tits, which I'm not at all happy about. The computer in question had all the necessary blocks put in so he didn't actually get to see anything, but they still sent him to the headmaster, and got his teacher to ring Mrs.Noos demanding to know what punishment we were going to dish out to the boy when he gets home. I've instructed Mrs Noos to refer the uptight cunts to me, and am awaiting their call.

I'm going to suggest that for this most serious of crimes, I build a mini crucifix in the garden, string him up, and flog him repeatedly with copies of the bible until he sees the error of his ways, renounces all interest in "people having sex", and instead learns how to use the internet as god would wish him to - to groom children for a spot of kiddyfiddling.

On a serious note, I think they have seriously over-reacted and I'm not fucking happy about it. A quiet word from his teacher explaining the school's resources are only to be used for school related work would have been enough in my view. Any of you teaching types on here have any idea if schools have a policy on this? Surely they must do - it must happen all the time!

I should add that the boy has never been in trouble at school and unlike his dad, hates being the centre of attention. He would have been absolutely mortified and deeply upset to have been sent to the headmaster, and I dread to think how he has reacted to knowing his parents have been told.

The more I stew on this, the more fucking angry I'm getting with the school.

Your son is ace Noos, I'd be proud of it myself, he could of been totally scallified and typed in 'ppl shagn' or the like. The school should of been impressed he used correct language format.

They teach sex education to children this age in schools, what are curious impatient kids meant to do, wait until he gets home and is on his own on the PC, no fun there, no mates around to brag and show off too.

I'd go ape at the school, inform them they handled a minor situation appallingly and explain how it could of been handled differently. You'll need to add your expecting an apology for such a trivial issue.

He's 8 for fucks sake, i'd also be adding he will not be being punished for googling biological mechanisms of reproduction / pleasure.

You could tell them if they'd advise sending him to the local priest for a demonstration

Seriously, I'd suggest making all of the appropriate noises with the school, and then doing f all about it in the privacy of your own home. The school have no right to interfere or even inquire about home discipline. Just tell them that you will deal with it appropriately yourselves

He certainly won't be getting punished. He would have been in a whole world of trouble if I found out he'd been using textspeak.

With regards to the school, I feel a crank letter/email of old testament proportions demanding not only an apology, but of course a hefty settlement by way of compensation. I accept cash and/or porn site subscriptions for the boy.

I like it, (can't rep unfortunately) you may be able to point out on the letter that the area of sex education on the curriculum is clearly not meeting your son's needs and so on. Are C of E schools as religious orientated as catholic schools?

The school system in the UK and Ireland is fucked up, even more so in Ireland IMO. My wife is a primary school teacher and has a class of 24, 11 of which are 'non-national' and 6 of whom are not catholic. As you all know, the Catholic Church still have a massive say in how schools are run and religion has more time on the curriculum than Maths and English.

Those 6 non Christian kids have to sit through the 2.5 hours per week of religion, yet the Christian kids will not have an understanding of the differences between Christianity and other religions because its not part of curriculum. Pure nonsense and until the school system is rid of its association with organised religion it will remain so.

Welcome to the future mate. All the religions are waging war on reason and trying to get at kids as young as possibly to brainwash them. It's scary how bad it is in the US and with schools now up for sale, and the curriculum therefore up for sale too, you can say goodbye to kids learning about evolution, and being told how brilliant DNA and fossils are at charting the magnificent history of the world, and hello to whichever story the specified cult preach.

"There is no place for organised religion in schools, just as there's no place for facts in organised religion."

Superindendent Chalmers knows the score.

No, religious people say that. A reasoned person would be bright enough to see disasters everywhere regardless of a particular school's curiculum.

Regardless of your faith it is to the shame of a society that they allow children to be so obviously, and deliberately, brainwashed into not believing possibly the most important fact ever discovered. All because there's a risk that if they promote free thought and the idea of evaluating evidence they are sunk. It's disgraceful.
