Just turned on for the 2nd half and has been very impresssed by Eccleston. Not just his goal, but the chipped pass for N`Gog, and overall work. very encouraging.

Pacheco for me was very good indeed. Ecclestone when involved, was also very good, two good goals.

The lads certainly did not deserve to lose that, but they did seem to waste a few too many chances to kill the game off.

 

Eccleston deservedly Man of the Match with 2 well taken goals, the first the highlight of the game.

 

Pacheco and Ayala were also standout players for me, with Spearing, Darby and N'Gog all having decent games.

 

Got to feel for the young lad in goal who was thrown in for his reserves debut having previously never played higher than under 16's.

There was nothing wrong with that tackle from Spearing. He'd cleared the ball and the Blackburn player just threw himself down. Last season when the reserves lost, it was usually because they were awful. I think those lads (a couple excepted) could be forged into a decent little outfit.
