What the fuck is that in the sky?

Go outside and look North, maybe slightly to the East of North. Fairly low in the sky is a star.

 

It's as steady as a rock, location-wise, but it's flickering quite madly, and not at all in sympathy with the other stars around it, so I doubt it is just mere atmospheric conditions causing this. The weird thing is, it's also changing colour. Flashes of green and red/reddish orange in with the flickering white light.

 

I've just stood out back and watched it for a good 15 minutes.

Anyone see Jupiter tonight? Just to the bottom left of the moon from about 6 to 9 I think. I've lost the moon now so don't know if it's still visible. Apparently Neptune was there too but I didn't notice that.
