Which band is the best to see live?

The Flaming Lips may not be on many people's lists of the best bands on earth, but their live shows are legendary. Typically, the night starts off with the lead singer coming out and crowd-surfing in a large hamster excercise ball:

Then they do the balloons/glitter thing:

And once the dust settles you realise there are a whole pile of fuckers dressed up as Father Christmas dancing on one side of the stage, and a bunch of babes dressed as pixies on the other:

Add to this the fact that their roadies are all dressed in superhero outfits, and you have all the ingredients for a very unusual evening indeed. The last time I saw them, a girl dressed as Wonder Woman randomly wandered on stage in the middle of a song, took a photo, wandered off and no-one batted an eyelid.

I've already told him. But will he listen? Noooooooooooo. Or maybe. I'm seeing them at the Festival Hall, are they doing the Albert Hall too?

They have announced a couple more dates.

Hmm, I may have my halls mixed up. And months, haha. Anyway I'm off to see them somewhere later this year.

Got themmmmm. Cheers TK n Waff.

Two of my favourite gigs were last year. I saw (with the big bad Prof) both Rival Schools and Frank Turner at the Cockpit in Leeds and both absolutely ruled. I thought I'd never get the chance to see Rival Schools so when they announced a reunion tour I was all over it.

Frank Turner was one the best crowds I've ever been in, incredible.
