That can't have been an age related thing, though?

He had his first at 37, after being a whippet like winger for two local teams (Saturday and Sunday leagues). The surgeon said he had just worn it out. He actually started playing again after the replacement, and squash and stuff. He now coaches instead.

When I had my hip ops they told me I was too young to have them replaced as they could only do 2 with the current technology.

 

I've just got in from playing cricket and can hardly walk, the only things that don't hurt are my tongue and ear lobes.

How is your arsehole hurting after playing cricket?  Did you take a full toss in the crease?
