They all descend on this shit because it gives them hours, days, weeks of easy 'stories', rather than having to go out in the world and actually earn a fucking living.

 

Think about it - with the exception of, say, Panorama or Dispatches (is that even still on?), when was the last time the news told you anything you didn't already know? 

Private Eye is the only publication I can think of with any semblance of regular independent journalism.

It's not just the brits and their complete nonsense, didn't the Irish  have pictures of pope John Paul II on their walls, called  him papa and had national mourning when he died? When he visited the country a third of the whole population turned up to one venue for a glimpse of the leader of one of the worlds most evil organisations.
