Endo needs a run in the team before we write him off or are happy with him. It's genuinely mental that after a handful of run outs, mostly as a sub, we've got judgements rolling in. It's the Simon Cowellisation of football.

Totally agree. He is potentially an ok signing or a great signing. He wont be a flop but he needs a lot more games to even be mentioned on the same page as our most successful captain in over 30 years,let alone our other stellar midfielders of the era. The genius of Klopp and his staff is how they make the team work far above the individuals in it.

Thought he should’ve came on when we made our first round of subs. Turned out alright in the end obviously but our midfield was kind of nonexistent from then until he did come on. As others have said was a great goal from range.

Good goal and brought a bit of drive, which had been badly missing. The midfield today was very flat and looked leggy which is worrying coming into such an intense period. I wouldn't be shocked if some players have been having a bit of extra training before this period kicks in the way they looked today.

A good guy to have around. He is nowhere near Big Games James though.

We should see some improvement from him when it comes to fitness levels and familiarity with the system, but realistically he's coming up to 31 and is only going to gradually decline overall.

 

Still get plenty of full games out of him in cups and the odd league game but he's unlikely to ever make it to first choice from here.

And that's the deal isn't it; imo we didn't sign Endo to replace Fabinho, we signed him to replace Milner, and to that end he's been fine so far.

So we will lose the lad for 3/4 weeks in January/Feb due to Asian cup at the same time we lose Mo for AFCON.

You could say we're losing him midway through the season. Hopefully it doesn't stir up a hornet's nest and we can display the required enterprise.

Had another decent game vs Sheffield United. We do need to be thinking of bringing in a younger, more mobile, physically dominant DM in January though. Japan are likely to go far in the Asian Cup and he would clock up more miles there.
