Was anyone counting Bajcetic as a senior team member at the beginning of last season? Certainly he will be this season.

It will be this: Fabinho, Hendo, Thiago, Mac Allister, Jones, Elliott, Bajcetic.

The club will say those players will all be expected to contribute and that's already seven. With no departures, there really is only space for 1 more. We're at the exact same debate as we've had for years regarding depth and numbers in that area.

I suppose it doesn't matter too much because if United get bought out, footy in the UK will be virtually over.

And even then, in 2 years time, you'll be sitting on the bus on a Friday night on the way home from work, when just 5 days earlier we've been pipped to the title on goal difference on the final day of the season by both of them with a transfer spend of 35m....a spiteful, ginger stepbrother type Evertonian cunt who's the Brother-in-Law of some twat you know from work will get on 2 stops later and sit by you, even though there's loads of empty seats and say...

"eh though lad, City and United, great teams though lad, proper winners them"

And you'll say....

"you're an Everton supporter, you survived relegation on the final day and finished 17th again,  your stadium is still half built, you haven't won a trophy for 30 years and you still haven't had a points deduction, so what has the success of anyone else got to do with you?"

"Winners lad, they win things, you've won fuck all this season the same as us"

"fuck off you inbred transvestite cunt"

"Heysel lad, 39 Italians can't be wrong"

Barella to the Toon for £50m then, another one off the list.

from the Torygraph

I'm going to confidently predict he will be on loan with Juventus by the January 2025.

Anyone else remember when you used to get excited opening a transfer thread thinking you might come across some piss ant information that would get you excited and sometimes come true.

It's all on the MF mate to encourage people to pay towards the site. @El Rojo and I used to give info out on the FF but wanted to help dave out.

Isn't Barella played as either their deepest mid or on the right?

Plays on the right but does the same things as Mac Allister, ideally you have a different profile to play alongside Mac Allister that brings different attributes.

What things?

Mac Allister has done things in every midfield position, on the wing and as a second striker.

We've not bought him for the wing though, we've bought him to play predominantly in the 'inside forward' position as an advanced 8 (unless we're planning another change in system).

Barella has more assists than Mac Allister but they'll both drop deep to pick up the ball and then look to advance up the field and move the ball wide or play the percentages on through balls (Barella is more incisive).

Ideally you pair one of them with a player who provides something different.

Sounds alot like the Henderson/Wiji pairing - except with a little more quality going forward.
