But, on a serious note, who really cares?

I don’t mean that in the somewhat dismissive sense that you sometimes see with people arguing that heterosexual players don’t publicly declare their sexuality so why do gay players feel the need to do so? Because, like it or not, football (and society as a whole) still sees a stigma around homosexuality to the extent that some people don’t feel comfortable and safe to be openly gay so, in that regard, a footballer “coming out” is still quite an important thing.

But, a certain proportion of people in the world are gay/bisexual. And a certain proportion of people in the world are good enough at football to play professionally. It stands to logic then that done professional footballers will be gay/bisexual. It’s of nobody’s concern. If they’re good enough at their profession, why should what they do in their private life be relevant?

My lad reckons this is all a joke. Apparently Casillas gets linked with a new woman every day in the Spanish press and he was being ‘ironic’

The ‘coming out’ post has been taken down too?

That’s what some of the Spanish press are going with too.

That city strip is like something I'd make on fantasy premier league when trying to make it as ugly as possible, just missing pink socks.

I was expecting your post to be about the VAR ‘decisions’ in the game. So far.

What a load of old shit!
