Its impossible to seperate him and his injury record though. Its pointless pinning your hopes on a player if he's only playing once or twice,at best,a month. Nobody doubts his ability but we do doubt his fitness.

he's fit right now, and when he plays, the team are so much better than when he doesn't.   So let's hope he can stay fit, rather than hope he gets crocked so we can all say 'I told you so'.

Thiago and Fabinho dovetail perfectly. The only thing lacking is pace.

A fast and physical 3rd midfielder makes so much sense in the summer. Until then I guess that 3rd person depends upon the opponent.

that's Elliiot

Physical - we've got both Fabinho and Thiago who will tackle and win the ball, so we've got the perfect balance.

he was pretty good on that front yesterday - most of his wins of possession, and there were loads, were him nicking the ball off toes, or intercepting passes, or winning headers

Yeah true although I did wince everytime he jumped into one. In-fact I’m sure he gave a couple of fouls away. Spot on about the nicking the ball off toes. He’s electric, I love him and I think that he likes me.

It really is a thing of beauty watching him play. The way he creates so much space for himself with the slightest dip of his shoulder to wrong foot the defence, sees passes that nobody else does, and his ability to put the ball exactly where it needs to go. I love watching him play.

We need to get him on the experimental PEDs that we've been giving Matip this season to stop him getting injured then we'll be cushty.

Yeah, like we all want our team to do worse just so we can claim a victory on the interweb. An open topped bus tour is ready to happen.

Thiago linking the left side of midfield and Elliot the right side. I could rip off my undies through my keks right now. Fabinho, thiago, elliot, diaz, jota  and Salah I wouldn't mind a glimpse of that.

Only an idiot or a virgin leg spinning gimp would deny that Elliott offers more offensively than Jordan Henderson, but I would go as far as saying that we're non the worse defensively either, Elliott's pace and tenacity from a more advanced position is just as destructive as Henderson's dogged workmanship.

It was funny when people who didn't have a clue called him a luxury player. He's one of the hardest working, scrappiest players you'll find. He's too scrappy in fact. It likely contributes to his injuries.

Between him, Jota, and Diaz we've got a good handful of players there who love scrapping for the ball in the opposition third. They're going to cause defenders all kinds of nightmares.
