People don't want Coutinho...

2 goals 1 assist

They'd be way better served selling Messi and keeping Coutinho. What an absolute fucking clown Eric Abidal is. Took some going to pip our transfer policy around the Carroll time but yeah, Barcelona have performed the worst pound-for-pound football business in the all-time history of football.

These haven't been a team of a generation in a good few years.

Yeah, was thinking the same.

Defence and midfield are utter shite, and the two forwards are in their thirties.

They've spent hundreds of millions on total shite.

 Agreed.

No one expected this though.

I expected 3-1/4-1 or something. Barcelona can't defend and Bayern are the best team in the competition.

They'll hammer City as well. Not 8-2, like.

Both Spanish clubs have been shown that slow midfielders might be OK in la liga but they'll get exposed at the very top level

Spending and hoping for quality is easy, as Man City have proven.

Spending on unknown players you know to be quality is a much harder skill.

They've been exposed in La Liga as well. Barcelona got 82 points this year, conceded 38, and lost six games. Bailed out by ter Stegen, Suarez and Messi all year as well.

As they arrived at Anfield, they'd sealed the league title days earlier, were in the Copa Del Rey final and had a 3-goal lead against an undermanned Liverpool. They even had the luxury of resting their entire first XI in preparation for that semifinal.

What happened that night shouldn't distract from the fact they were considered hot favorites for the treble all of a year ago.
