One trophy in the bag, in the final of the FA Cup, a 2 nil lead going into the Champions League semi final 2nd leg, second in the league a point behind the oil cheats ready to pounce, the shite in dire straits in the relegation zone and now we've got Jurgen for at least another 4 years.

This season just gets better and better!

I await an update when we finish 2nd, lose the cup final, get knocked out by Villareal, and the shite stay up!

Fortunately / unfortunately I have a Twitter life ban, but if somebody could spare a moment and tweet that over to Killian Mbappe, he'll come and play for us for free.

Boss that.

I am reading a bit about how he was 'burnt out' at the 7-year mark of his previous 2 jobs, as if it's a magical number, with the suggestion being it will likely happen again.

Context is so important. Going from Mainz to Dortmund was clearly a career step-up for a talented manager. He then took Dortmund to the top of the domestic pile and the brink of the European one.

Could you imagine losing a tight final like that, while one of your best players is sat in the stands, having already announced he is fucking off to your biggest rival, who just beat you in the European Cup final? And then a year later, your very best player and major goal scorer also fucks off to your biggest rival (on a free) just as he is hitting his prime?

Losing your best players like that would hurt a lot. Having them then strengthen your biggest rival simultaneously would turn you from Richard Simmons to Eeyore. Absolutely soul-crushing.

The Coutinho thing is the only one remotely comparable. Even then, Klopp was able to re-invest the massive fee into the team (and how!) while Phil joined Barca, rather than a domestic rival.

I've said it a few times, but he'll never get it better than here and now. The team is in a great position in terms of age profile, with the ability to phase in the next group of players gradually, rather than needing major surgery.

Get the fuck in.
