Great win. Be interesting to see how India respond to that. You have to imagine having just beaten Australia away from home they were not expecting an absolute mauling at home to England.

Incredible performance really. I'm worried it will be a flash in the pan, but we'll soon find out with the next test starting Thursday. I'm not sure India will rotate much, so they could be quite fatigued.

Haha no but working from home so no need to get up as early as normal. Rolled out of bed at half 8 and walked into the office to logon at 9.

 

One of the few upsides to Covid.

Yes, he’s going home.  More to do with his well-being than anything else.

Yes , he's done very well but the bubbles must be very restrictive and he has a young family so it seems a very good idea. Looking forward to seeing Foakes getting a go.

Even better for me, i'm up at 7 and logged on at 7.30. If i'm doing that under normal circumstances with the travel to Manchester, i'm getting in the office at 9.30. Win win.

Been a great days cricket but basically looks like India will win due to winning the toss. 

 

Modern has bowled some terrible deliveries with the odd great one thrown in. Consistently inconsistent.

Third umpire has had s nightmare.

Foakes has been impressive.

Watched the last sesion and it was enjoyable stuff , with England getting back into the game. India are on top and Kohli has obviously spoken to the groundsman , but England are a lot more rugged these days.

England did well to stick in there and bowled well but can’t see anything other than an Indian win especially the way the pitch behaved on day one.

Watched it from about 100/3. Thought England bowled well and were a bit unlucky.

 

They have no chance from this point though; needed to bowl them out for about 250 to have a chance batting last on that pitch.

 

That DRS debacle was dodgy as fuck.

I wouldn't be quite as certain of our chances being so slim. 

 

Wrap it up relatively early tomorrow for under 350 and we've every chance.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we got skittled badly first innings.

We can all hear the 3rd umpire speaking to the on field, my question would be are the on field able to speak to the third umpire ?

The fact England later got the review back makes me think the on field did not contact the third umpire, in which case I blame the on field and not the third. 

 

Root was obviously telling the on field what England wanted, so he either couldn't or wouldn't pass the message on. 

The England team should have just refused, in a polite way, to restart because the DRS check was not complete. Eventually the message would have been passed up stairs.

The stumping was a bit dodgy as well.

Obviously the groundsmen will be instructed to work in the home teams favour , but this is like a bomb site.
