Liverpool FC - International Academy

Around the world our LFC International Academies provide young players with an opportunity to develop, learning new techniques and skills, all under the guidance of our coaching staff.

We offer something different and something unique by developing players both on and off the pitch, educating them through experiences that will shape their progression into young adults and giving them skills that can be used throughout their lives.

Our overall aims are to bring LFC to our young fans around the world and to demonstrate just how special our football club is.

Wherever you are lucky enough to attend a LFC coaching programme we hope you have fun and enjoy learning how to play ‘The Liverpool Way’.

Liverpool Football Club is the best club in the world.

As one big LFC family we have a responsibility to provide young players around the world with access to the best environment and coaching possible, that’s what we aim to achieve with our International Academies.

By following the same curriculum that we deliver to our players at the LFC Academy we can ensure that all participants get the very best football education from our coaching staff. PLAYING THE LIVERPOOL WAY

Liverpool Football Club is recognised around the world as one of an elite group of clubs with a true worldwide reputation. We pride ourselves in creating the best environment for the development of young players, both as footballers and as people.

We have a very special philosophy which is well known by our players, staff and fans, is recognised all over the world and sets us aside from other football clubs. The characteristics of playing ‘The Liverpool Way’ were no more evident than during the 2005 Champions League final. Team spirit, hard work, determination and the ability to overcome any obstacles in life and above all play with dignity and fair play…. these are all the values and characteristics we look for in our players.

For the last 50 years the club has been at the forefront of British and European football, winning numerous championships and European club tournaments. During this time, there has been a consistent tradition of developing top class players, particularly from the Liverpool Academy; Steven Gerrard is the ultimate example of a home grown talent who ranks at the very top of the worldwide game.

Liverpool FC announces International Academy in New South Wales, Australia

6th April 2016

Liverpool Football Club has today announced the launch of the Club’s first full-time coaching program in Australia. Together with partner Southern Cross University (SCU) the Reds will deliver ongoing player development programmes to youngsters across New South Wales.

The youth coaching program will officially start in August 2016 and will provide unique opportunities for players aged 5 -17 to learn to play ‘The Liverpool Way’. Players will improve their football skills and develop in the technical, tactical, physical and social aspects of the game through age-specific coaching sessions.

Programmes will be delivered across New South Wales, at both the Southern Cross Football Centre in Lismore and at other key locations in major cities across the state.

A wide range of programmes are planned, including ongoing player development sessions, coaching within local communities, soccer schools in the holiday season, residential courses, youth tournaments, coach education and a football-specific diploma delivered in conjunction with Southern Cross University.

Through the unique coaching methods of Liverpool FC, there will also be a focus on improving key life skills of the young participants, such as communication, teamwork, confidence, preparation and organisation. In addition, LFC and SCU will train local Australian coaches, providing career opportunities as well as helping to develop the game in Australia.

Ian Rush, Liverpool Football Club Ambassador said: “We have a huge number of fans in Australia, so setting-up a full-time coaching programme in the country is a great opportunity for those youngsters to learn to play the Liverpool way through this partnership. The enthusiasm and passion for LFC in the country is amazing, so I’m sure this initiative will be a huge success. On all the LFC International Academy projects around the world we aim to develop players both on and off the pitch and this will be no different.”

Scott Collis, the General Manager of the Southern Cross Football Centre, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for young players across the North Coast, and will provide a major boost for Lismore. Southern Cross University is proud to be partnering with one of the most recognized and prestigious names in world sport. Liverpool Football Club has a glorious footballing tradition and an exciting future. We are enthusiastic about being part of that future. Our recognised expertise across the health and sports disciplines, both in research and teaching, will complement the delivery of Liverpool Football Club International Academy programmes in New South Wales.”

Dan White, Head of LFC’s International Academies added: “We are delighted to be bringing the LFC International Academy to New South Wales. Having worked closely with Scott and the team at Southern Cross University I am delighted that they are our partner of choice. I have no doubt that the implementation and delivery of LFC’s unique player development programme in New South Wales will serve to enhance local players and coaches alike.”

Liverpool FC International Academy New South Wales will shortly commence the process of selecting a team of local coaches who work with existing Liverpool FC coaches to deliver authentic LFC programmes in the second half of 2016.

This is fantastic news, for me anyway.

As this facility is only 10 mins away from where we live, my boys are going to have access to some amazing coaching and opportunities.

Any other Aussie reds with young players in Northern NSW or Southern QLD you should click on that link and register interest in clinics and training camps.

I coach lads between 14-16 in the NSW youth league. There are a crop of 15 year old lads playing in the Sydney FC academy at the moment that are something special.

Had been thinking about approaching the club about developing a relationship, great that they are thinking this way. Some very talented kids coming through the system.

We got to spend a week with the Real Madrid youth coaches last season. Amazing experience. The lads had played in an international tournament in Spain an got touched up by Espanyol 4-0 in the quarters but a couple of boys impressed so much that the Real Madrid coaches were sniffing around.

When Real Madrid came here last year their youth coaches spent a week with our boys teaching us all of their training programmes etc. Three clear programmes implemented through each season. Very fucking impressive

That would have been great for you and for the kids.

I can't wait to see what the local boys get out of it, as we usually have to travel to the Gold Coast for any high end training. Nothing usually for the regional kids.

I hope you're teaching them about how to handle fame and fortune should they make it after your successful Hey Dad stint in the 80s?

The royalties must have dried up after the dad's investigation though.
