Saw a short clip of him being interviewed after the match yesterday and thought he looked a bit fed up. I know he'll be pissed off with his injury but just wondered if he's a bit worried for his future at LFC. I'm probably reading too much into it.

You'd be fed up if sone clumsy twat had come storming in to the changing room in their football boots and stood on one of your best crayons while you were colouring in as well.

Was he blinking ever so slightly more than usual again?

What now for our Captain?

Can he heal? Could he run around busily at right back, pointing, shepherding and whipping in delicious delivieries?

Somebody should have retrained him as an attacking right back years ago, I think he'd have become one of the best around if they did. I would think It's too late for him now but if at all possible it could happen id spend all summer trying to convert him and let him know it's the only way he stays and gets in the team at Liverpool. Replace Milner with a proper left back aswell.

when he's fit, he has the athleticism to be a full back, but there would need to be considerable work done on his positioning and tackling.  If we're going to convert a midfielder into a right back, I'd prefer to see Milner given a go there.  It would be less of a learning curve for him.

The Captain Class - apparently there is a strong correlation between a successful team and the quality of the team's captain. I suggest that the last truly strong captain we had was Graeme Souness. Any wonder we've been in a relative wilderness since? I do wish someone would grasp this particular nettle, upset someone and get a truly inspirational captain in - someone (dare I say), like Roy Keane. Jordan seems a nice lad but not in the same galaxy as Keane.

Hendo our top four captain.

John Terry is captain of the title winning team.  Both made absolutely massive contributions to the relative achievements of their club this season.  They'll both be credited if England manage to stumble out of their qualifying group too.

I doubt Mongo gets a mention in the book Philbert cited.

What's really surprising is that this "Captain Class" includes few athletes who received public recognition as superstars, and in the rare cases when they did receive media attention, invariably shunned it. Indeed these captains often displayed characteristics that many would consider antisocial, often content to serve unglamorous supporting roles on their teams and prone toward stubborn, opportunistic behavior that furthered their one goal: a winning team.
