Brendan Rodgers is our manager

Its not "risking their investment" in any way at all.

Rodgers forced out- costs them nothing

If we finish in top 8 every year it's no issue to them really.

Their revenue is tickets/sponsors/kit sales.

Not one of these will be in peril just by giving Rodgers an uncomfortable few months thus forcing him out.

We do really well on the pitch? Bonus

We stink the place out? No matter.

FSG will not have budgeted for all out success on the field. The BIG company's will still want a piece of the premier league pie, especially an association with Liverpool.

Thats all true enough but, Coutinho aside, we've probably seen the last of the big paydays from a sale.

Bad news for Rodgers this.

A coach coming in who has vastly more experience in football, has just launched his management career with honours by completing a historic treble.

Pretty sure he wont be coming here just to be happy to sit and coach again.

He will have his eye on a top management job, which would suggest he is only here short term to boost his profile in England which is maybe why he is coming in or he has eyes on the job himself.

It would seem FSG are putting their caretaker in place, should the need arise.

To be fair, now you've said that, somebody will repeat it, then on twitter and before long it'll be in the paper and taken as fact.

Maybe Rodgers wanted him.

Pako's return would be great news. His experience of winning things, and European football would be invaluable.

Brendan can then concentrate on making sure the cones are straight and that there are the correct number of bibs.

Weird rumour and if true even weirder. Just say if rodgers did leave or was pushed in the end and Paco took over I wouldnt be happy especially if the likes of klopp and anceloti are available. It's complete conjecture anyway but still is the club ran with the use of a magic 8 ball, it's completely arse about tit on every issue. Other than the simple business of using the clubs name and tv time to find various sponsors we appear to be clueless on almost every level.

If rodgers chose paco ( if it's true ) then great but if he's been forced upon him then it will end badly.

I'd have more respect for him if he walked.

I think most managers would consider the huge pay off to be worth more than a little respect.

Be interesting to see what happens, if this is true and who picked him if it is.

Agree, he's been pretty much neutered. His relationship with the new staff is going to be critical to how this season pans out.

neutered wouldn't be promoting someone from the academy he brought in to replace frank mcparland.

also is it conceivable that rodgers and ayesteran might know each other, you know, from coaching.

Problem is for Rodgers is if it goes badly, he'll get the boot.

If it goes well it will be down to Pako.

Either way his position is greatly diminished.

It will be the other way around for jermaine p and his ilk.

This football management lark is a right bugger. Surprised anyone at all wants to do it.
