The only shame is that Andy Gray wasn't on co-commentary duties.

'Ho, ho, ho! The big man sees the ball on its way in and buys himself a ticket for the lottery. Guess what? His number gets drawn out. Yes you Can, son. Yes you Can!'

Didn't Rivaldo score a very late over head kick to secure champions league football for Barca once upon a time?

Not sure if it was "that" goal, but he scored one where he took a touch, then did a kick up, then bicycle kicked it into the bottom corner.

The speed of thought and techincial ability to pull that off, especially in that Valencia game, is mindblowing. Him and Ronaldo the best partnership in international football I've ever seen.

Rafa was Valencia manager, if memory serves me. That was his 5th placed finish between his 2 titles.

Won the UEFA the next season too, and then #5 the season after.

An Italian paper saying he's close to £100k p/w new deal.

If it's anything like as close as the Salah transfer expect it to drag on for weeks.

Good news if true.  After playing pretty crap for a few months in the middle of the season (injury?) he really put us on his back in March and April to get us over the line.

Just 23, his best years are about to start and I think he'll be a vital part of our side the next couple of years.  Now sign another top midfielder to play alongside him and with Henderson and Wijnaldum for depth we'll finally have a proper centre midfield which we haven't since Masch left.
