Lallana is a specialist in the position we are looking to fill. Fabregas isn't. Fabregas can probably play there because he's such a good player, but his natural game is as a central midfielder.

 

There are also other things to consider, like the fact that he would be on huge wages (probably the highest earner at the club), his obvious emotional connection to Arsenal, and the fact that he has spent his whole career playing "tiki taka" style football.

 

Would I be disappointed if we signed him? Obviously not. He is a world class player whichever way you look at it. But I'm pretty sure that Rodgers and the scouts are competent enough to have considered him before deciding on the players that they actually want, so if he's not on the list then there are going to be good reasons for it.

I don't know if it's that article being referenced as the source. It could be other Spanish papers with different fees being suggested.

P.S can't believe the Lambert deal. Came at me out of the sun, that one. Didn't thrill me - but the enlightened posters on here seam happy enough, so maybe I am wrong.

I don't think we'll overpay for Moreno. We might have done had he gone to the World Cup with the Spanish team, but the minute he didn't make it, we were probably knocking on Sevilla's door to get the deal signed at the original offer. At least, that's how I hope it went down.

I hope we are not going to undo all the good work we have done in previous windows, we have not gone above our valuation for a player even when we were desperate for certain positions like a striker in Rodgers first season and there was big pressure to do so.

 

We are an attractive option for players and don't need to be paying over the odds for any players as we should have a lot of options.

 

It looks like we are going to get fucked for lallana and Moreno, I also don't like how we are not hearing what the add ons are for lambert from journos with lfc connections, it makes me think the add one will be certain payments for saints which will make us look worse as it will be more then 4m.

 

It will be something stupid like every 5-10 games they get more money while cynical fans like myself will think sweetners for lallana.

Funny thing is that Liverpoolsno9 complained about signing both Coutinho and Sturridge. They didn't represent "true" Liveprool signings according to him. One was a Johny Foreigner who knew nothing about Liverpool and the other one was an arrogant twat who would create problems with his attitude. Not proper Liverpool signings. :/

I'd be very surprised if I did, I did question Sturridge's attitude, but that was after he'd played quite a lot of games. Glad to see I was wrong. I don't think I ever questioned them before signing,please prove me wrong. In fact I don't think I've ever been negative about ANY of the players we've signed before they've played & that includes shite like Downing & Adam. Again, I would be very happy for you to prove otherwise.
