Nyoni looks really really good, pretty much ran the mini derby.
Everton juniors, meanwhile were typical Everton…. Big lump up front, a few crude challenges, a few blatant dives, one of which would have embarrassed Anthony Gordon.

Best ref I’ve seen at this level (or any level recently, come to that.)

Kaide Gordon came on today for the last half hour of the 21s International cup against Benfica.

He looked to have had what it took to succeed here. Let's hope he can get his career back on track, and with us to boot.

Delighted for him.

I think I read that he's missed 16 months of football. Thats a huge blow at this stage of his development. Hopefully he can stay fit and have another crack at it.

From the Echo,

Liverpool under-21s can still qualify for the knockout stages of the EFL Trophy despite suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat at Barrow on Tuesday evening.

Mateusz Musialowski scored in his third successive game in the competition to give the Reds a deserved lead in the 29th minute with a stunning strike into the top corner from 25 yards..

Barrow, though, responded in the second half with Sean Etaluku equalising on 65 minutes before, 10 minutes later, Mazeed Ogungbo headed home from a corner.

However, with the Cumbria side having failed to win by three goals, Liverpool remain in second place in the group and can now progress if leaders Blackpool beat Morecambe in the final match next week.

Marcelo Pitaluga 7

Confidently fielded what Barrow could muster during the first half in slippery conditions. Saved superbly from Ray after break but caught out for the equaliser.

Terence Miles 6

Steady at right-back before break and stepped up as Barrow increased the pressure second half.

Carter Pinnington 8

The 16-year-old belied his young age with another impressive display at centre-back against much senior opponents. Composed and confident.

Amara Nallo 7

Picked up a booking early on but another who grew into the game and didn't look out of place.

Josh Davidson 6

Although playing out of position on the left, increasingly warmed to his task. Attacking forays were limited, though.

Jay Spearing 8

Helped bring out more from his much younger team-mates with a performance in which his experience showed. Subbed.

Mateusz Musialowski 8

Threatened with his runs from a deeper midfield position and curled in a sumptuous opener from range. Lively showing.

Trey Nyoni 6

A couple of neat touches early on and while not overawed, this was definitely a big learning curve for the 16-year-old. Booked.

Kaide Gordon 6

Made his first competitive start since February and clearly intent on enjoying himself. Put himself about but understandably lacked sharpness.

Lewis Koumas 6

Put in a selfless stint as the lone central striker but blazed a half-chance over in the first half. Close with one scuffed effort after interval.

Melkamu Frauendorf 6

Dragged a shot wide first half but Involved in the build-up to the opener. Subbed.

SUBS

Trent Kone-Doherty (for Frauendorf 46) 6

Threatened on occasion with his trademark jinking runs.

Kieran Morrison (for Gordon 59) 6

Not much service down the right flank and booked.

Tommy Pilling (for Spearing 59) 6

Confidently sprayed some passes around on his inclusion.

Afolami Onanunga (for Nyoni 82)

Minutes for the youngster.

As impressive as that lad scoring ten fucking goals is,no Liverpool team should be losing that badly to a team at their own age group.

were they down to 8 players from kick off or something?

Anthony Taylor was ref.
