Luis Suarez signs new contract

As someone pointed out, he stays beyond January which means that we will be able to attract new signings in the January transfer window. It shows that we're thinking about the future, we're able to hold onto our best players, pay them a decent wedge, and we're legit players in the top 4 of the best league in the worldtm.  Losing players to Spurs, is hopefully a thing of the past.

Good times. Let's keep it up.

Guardian:

Luis Suárez has committed his future to Liverpool by signing a new long-term contract to take him to 2018.

His current contract, which was due to expire in two and half years, pays him £120,000 a week, but under the terms of the new four-and-a-half year deal that will rise to £170,000 a week for this season, and then £200,000 per week for the remainder of the contract.

Does that make him our highest earner?

Thats the best thing about it, the fact that it happened so fast.

Except we don't know how long it has been going on for. Rodgers mentioned a new contract months ago.

The best thing is it has been done in private until the last knockings.

But that's just nitpicking. Brilliant signing and a catalyst for others in Jan (I hope).

Whilst having no bearing on how long he will be with us it should ensure we get a decent amount for him, I'll hold off on the dancing though.

At least it ensures that we keep him beyond January.

He is ours for the foreseeable future, and I am happy with that.

Details on the contract will surface soon I am sure.
