He seemed to be a jobs for the boys appointment in my opinion as he was local and convenient but we need somebody with better pedigree and experience to fill the role.

English gk have been shite for some time now and appointing a man who,despite being dutch,has spent most of his career in the english lower leagues leagues is not fitting of a club with lofty ambitions.

It was a joke last season that he was the best we could find. Surely we can do better.

No mate Hodgson brought that old fart Mike Kelly with him. Rafa brought Achterberg in and John McMahon was running the reserve team. Think that Mike Kelly fella was Hodgson's assistant and Achterberg was still the Goalkeeping coach doing the same job he was under Rafa in Hodgson's short reign here.

Wrong. Achteburg was promoted to first team after Kelly left with Hodgson. It wasn't done by anyone really, just by default as Valero had left with Rafa and Kelly left with the Hodge. Problem was that Kenny didn't bring anyone in to actually replace and left Achteburg there.
