They are using one they took off the junk pile from last season.

Does Ake even get on the bench?

Ake played often earlier in the season. Then got injured, came back and got injured again. He has currently been out for a few weeks now, I think.

But that hasn't affected them because they went into the season with sufficient cover. Turns out it made sense to have sufficient cover at center back with proper, experienced centre backs.

He has played about 400 minutes of football. The season is half over.

There is no way Dias, Stones, LaPorte and Ake are anywhere near as good as Van Dijk, Matip, Gomez and Fabinho.

It appears everyone thinks we should buy a defender this window.

It appears because FSG will not sanction it we will not buy a defender this window.

It appears calling FSG cunts for not doing something everyone things we should do makes some fans unhappy.

It appears the fact that Klopp is our best manager of recent history and yet the fact FSG will not back him is irrelevant because in the past when FSG have not backed him he was so good we won silverware.

What happened in the past is gone, we took a gamble on one CB who never misses a game and two injury prone CBs who we hoped wouldn't be injured at the same time and we could play a midfielder there occasionally.

Sometimes when you gamble you win and you can tell everyone how clever you are, as they often do.

Sometimes when you gamble you lose and you need to pay up, that is where we are now.

Only FSG do not wish to pay up and instead are happy to gamble again. The reason is because for them it is not a gamble, if we lose they will not be effected.

They will still value the club the same, if someone pays it, then they have not spent the money on players this window and are therefore better off. If no one pays it, they will reduce spending in the summer to cover the loses due to no CL. They will be no worse off financially, so it is not a gamble for them.

As people often point out, they are not taking money out of the club, which is a good thing. So if the club has more/less money to spend next year, it is irrelevant to them either way.

Referring to family members as ‘our’ or ‘me’

Lolly ice

Minty

Gonna stop right there, gang of click bait patronising cunts.

There was a tweet of bad news Pearce today basically saying Fabinho doesn't want to play centre back long term incase the club get too comfortable with him there. Basically to avoid spending the money.

Just seen today's team and no fab. Makes you wonder if he's another who's just thought fuck itz I'll look after myself. Fucking fuming.

Not if you're trying to sell part of the club, which they have been till this redball dell through and are continuing to do so. In all business when you are up for sale or investment is the last thing you do, you manage costs. So not spending now reflects on the capital return they hope to get.

No, we've had a bigger than usual amount of depth in midfield for years.

Somebody earlier in the thread, maybe even you? Said that Klopp stocked up on midfielders because of their versatility in a crisis and I think that is spot on. Klopp knew he wouldnt have money to spend every time there were problems so he loaded up on versatile players, great thinking. But this situation is way out of the ordinary and there are no excuses here given the money Klopp has made for the owners during his reign.

At this point I'm gonna be pissed off even if they sign somebody, because they've thrown away a month's worth of results because they sat on their hands hoping it'd turn out OK. Now it'll probably cost us more because sellers know they have us by the pubes.

I'll be fucking fuming if they don't buy somebody though.

The owners have really boxed themselves into a corner with how they’ve handled this transfer window. The spin was coming out already about holding off until the summer but after tonight they’ll be under pressure not just from fans - tv media -also the press journos some of who are just mouthpieces for the club they will not be able to spin their excuses.

I’ve a bad feeling we don’t get anyone in and it makes the league a scrap for a top 4 finish and will end our champions league ambitions.

Klopp is the best thing to happen this club in a long time but he needs support from the ownership now more than ever.
