I'm gonna watch Scarface tonight after I finish a few more beers. A few other folks mentioned the falling sleep thing - I've tried to watch Godfather about 4 times and each time I've fell asleep half way through but its usually because I've been the pub and had a smoke, rather than the film boring me.

If I took the time to split it into 30minute chunks I've probably fair better.

I'm watching the long good Friday, cannae wait.

You lucky bastard Zeke, one of the best ever IMO.

'Face' is another decent one from the nineties which may have escaped you.

Ray Winstone and Robert Carlisle play a couple of armed robbers.

The robbery was actually based on a real one that happened in a security depot round the corner from where I work on Huyton industrial estate.

Good soundtrack too.

New updated list of ignorance:

Casablanca

Apocalypse Now

Blade Runner

Brief Encounter

Deliverance

Citizen Kane

2001 A space odyssey.

Withnail and I

Friday 13th

Gone With The Wind

Withnail and I

Dirty Harry

Easy Rider

The Shining

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Seven Samurai

Once Upon a Time in the West

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

Amelie

Schindler's list

Long good Friday

Blade Runner

Grease (some people call it a classic anyway)

Godfather II and III

A clockwork orange

Goodfellas

DT of those last 2 you couldn't get a bigger disparity. Goodfellas is possibly my favourite ever film whereas Chocolate orange is a vile, badly shit film for chinstroking thundercunts. Avoid like you'd avoid acid on your ball sack.

Looking at IMDB's top 100, I've still to see:

The Shawshank Redemption (have it downloaded)

Schindler's List

Casablanca

Lawrence of Arabia

Saving Private Ryan

and a few other pieces of shit that should in no way be classed as great films.

I've not seen a single one of the bottom 100 films on IMDB, although I might hunt some of them down for a laugh

There's loads of "classic" films that I've never watched because I know I won't like them and they don't interest me:

The most obvious ones - which are routinely listed in myriad "Best Films Of All Time" lists - are:

Casablanca

Gone With The Wind

Citizen Kane

Harold and Maude

The Graduate

La Dolce Vita

Any musical ever made.

Groundhog Day

but watched it yesterday. Fell asleep on the couch half way through. Says a lot really

I watched it, again. Love that film.

Now another film I watch over and over again is The Shawshank Redemption. Haven't seen it in around 6 months which means I'm due a watch, although I read the book a few months ago.

Tried watching Sweeney Todd three times, as i was told by everyone that it was brilliant, and didnt last more than twenty minutes. Musicals can fuck right off. Except for this one...
