Both in Aintree village.

Aintree fish bar - 7/10 nice chippy but annoying, slow staff. Was better when it was Jimmys Continental.

Olympic - 8/10 staff a bit slow getting your order together but very pleasant, lovely food.

Been the Aintree Fish Bar once on way home from footy last month. Fucking awful it was. Got in there, place empty, bird in back saw me but I still waited 5 mins for her to come out. Chips were overcooked and cold. Won't go there again.

The Olympic is sound though.

My nomination is Maghull Premier for chow mein dishes. Always busy in there and the chips are always sublime. 7/10

For fish and chips it has to be Melling Fish Bar. The cod is cooked to perfection. 8/10.

The Chinese on the Red Lion bridge in Maghull has the best traditional Chinese food combo's. They do meal deals which are chicken sweetcorn soup, prawn crackers, spring rolls, ribs, any main meal and boiled rice. Last time I got that it was £6.70! The standard of cuisine defies the price they charge. 8/10.

Jesus, chippies are shit down here, no full chinese menus, no chips and gravy or owt.

For Dirk tho', the Chip Basket on Church Road Hove, Bankers on Western Road, Bardsley's off London Road and The Daily Catch on St James's Street all do great fish and chips. But shit all else.

Nah the Olympic was an 8/10 about 15 years when Stavros (can't remember his real name so I'll just typically stereotype) used to charge 55p for a portion of chips, that and Chans chippy on Homestead was also top around the same time, used to knock round with the lad who's family owned it. Mabel who who used to work there (the daughter) was a vision of pure beauty.

The worst chippy though was The Bungalow in The Marian Square, rank of the highest standard of rank.

Everyone I know just calls him ( and the chippy ) the gay greek, so I suppose that makes Stavros sound PC!

Feel free to post about your local 'chipper' but I can't guarantee you won't get negged.

I used to knock around the streets of Old Roan/ Aintree Village in my youth. My uncle also lives on Radley Drive.

Used to live near Orrell Park till October last year, used to always be in the flat above the Launderette years ago.

I think that handsome devil Paulie Dangerously lives on Orrell Park.

I lived in the flat above Abels racing by the warbreck for two years. First year I lived there with my mate was a boss drunken haze then, unfortunately, my mate move out and my bird moved in. That soon ended the fun.

Decent chippy, but they sell the worst gravy I've ever had the misfortune to taste. Luckily for them it was too much of a pain in the arse to walk down to Moss lane from the Warbreck so they got my custom anyway.

Chaus on St Marys Road in Garston, 6/10.

Decent sweet and sour pork, but their special fried rice doesn't have any gravy! Prawn Crackers are crap too.

Sang Sang on Aigburth Road, 9/10.

Good sweet and sour pork, good special fried rice, decent english bits, and very friendly staff.

Rice Bowl in some back road in Garston, 9/10.

Friendly staff, very cheap food, and free stuff when you spend £10, £15, £20, whatever.

Don't know of any proper chippys round here, there all chinese.

    • That’s dreadful, somebody should have alerted stewards as soon as he started calling them p*#@* fucking ridiculous that this shite is still happening.
    • What an utter, utter cunt.    Not you, SA.   Well, I'm not referring to you here on this occasion, anyway.

    • Wish someone would have filled this cunt in.   http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/little-liverpool-fans-first-anfield-16024692#ICID=ios_EchoNewsApp_AppShare_Click_Other   Little Liverpool fan's first Anfield game ruined when racist launched rant at family     A little boy had his first ever Liverpool football match ruined by a drunken lout hurling foul racist abuse at his dad. Steven Gallagher, 37, had been muttering racial slurs towards Amir Malik but exploded into a rage when the victim's five-year-old son accidentally knocked his seat with his foot.   Mr Malik said his son and four-year-old daughter were left in "floods of tears" and wanted to go home after the incident at the Liverpool Legends vs Milan Glorie charity match at Anfield on Saturday.    Factory worker Gallagher wound up spending two nights in the cells and appeared at Sefton Magistrates' Court , Bootle, this morning where he admitted a charge of racially aggravated threatening or abusive behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress.    Gallagher had travelled to watch the game from his home in Port Glenone in County Derry, Ireland, and had sunk around seven or eight pints according to his own estimates.   Angela Conlon, prosecuting, told the court: "The complainant, Amir Malik, was (in the stadium) with his wife and two children; his daughter is aged four and his son is five.   "Throughout the game the defendant had kept turning around and staring at them, shouting comments about p****.   "The people who had attended with him apologised to Mr Malik and said 'sorry about that, he's a bit p****d.' However Gallagher turned around and said 'these f****** p*** b*******.'   "Mr Malik said by now he was feeling angry and horrible but didn't want to make a scene because he was with his wife and children."   Ms Conlon told the court that as half-time approached Mr Malik's little boy began to realise "something was wrong."     She said: "At half-time the young child knocked into one of the seats with his foot. The defendant started to shout and swear. Mr Malik said he threatened to assault me, and my son and daughter were in floods of tears.   "My son started to tell me he wanted to leave at this point and go home." Mr Malik's wife moved their children away and stewards were alerted, who came to escort the still ranting Gallagher out of the stands before handing him over to Merseyside Police.    A statement from Mr Malik said: "This was my son's first Liverpool game. I have been subject to racist abuse in the past but my children have not. "I felt it is disgusting that a grown man would act in such a way in complete disregard as to the presence of children and their young age."   The court heard Gallagher, who has one previous conviction for burglary, was not fit to be interviewed after his arrest due to his drunken state and later told officers he could not remember the incident.   Helen Dugdale, defending, said her client "could not believe" he had used the vile racist language described. She said: "The language is not something that is normally in his mind and is not something he uses.   "He has no explanation to offer to the court today...   "It is an offence that is totally out of character, one he bitterly regrets and one he has shown remorse for."   Ms Dugdale said Liverpool FC will very likely ban Gallagher from attending any matches.   District Judge Richard Clancy said he was not legally able to impose a football banning order because the game was a charity match - but he hit Gallagher with a 12 month exclusion order banning him from coming within a mile of Anfield Football Stadium.   Judge Clancy said: "Mr Gallagher this was a disgraceful incident and one for which you are very lucky not to be going to prison today.   "I have taken into account the fact you are working and everything that has been said on your behalf." He sentenced Gallagher to six weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, and fined him £250.   Gallagher was also ordered to pay a £150 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.   The Reds won the match, which raised £1million for the Liverpool FC Foundation, 3-2 thanks to some late heroics from Steven Gerrard.
