Apparently, loads of Chinese owned chippies change their chefs on a frequent basis, fuck knows why like. But obviously if you go from having Ken Hom cooking your scran, to Stephen Hawking, then everything is going to go to shit. It is hard to find a consistently good chippy nowadays though.

The one on Broadgreen road is good, and the one on Eaton road by the Sayers is nice as well.

Harrys on Prescot Road, and the two on Derby Lane are shite. Harrys was a quality chippy, then the original Harry fucked off - it was never the same then.

I will have to check out this Lobster Pot

Tso's on Muirhead is a bit special yes..... Ngs in aintree is good too. There used to be one on breckfield road ages ago, I think it was called Wing Wah, which I liked as well.

Tso's is a good chippy but always chocker as it feeds the whole of Norris Green. K Tams just down the road is decent.

Abbey Friar off Taggart Avenue used to be a big favourite.

Ah, and the mystery is taken away........

*Sobs*

I thought that it was something to do with the fish markets historically being shut on a Monday so no deliveries would be made hence why they would shut on a Monday.

Obviously that has changed now with 24 hour shopping but maybe something that has continued from a past era.

All the Chippy's near me in London are shut on a Sunday. Liverpool chippy's are boss though. We always go to Steve's on the way back from a match, not sure what the name of the road is but it's opposite The George.

Tso's and Ktams on Muirhead, boom. Jib all that lobster pot gash

Tso's is ace, go there all the time when I'm back home. Chu's in West Derby Village is alright aswell. The chippy in Dovey referred to, is that Chans? I used to sneak out of school and go there, and then later the one on Eaton Road in West Derby which I can't remember the name of but they done a donner burger and chips with boss homemade chilli sauce for 75p.

I cant get the image of Stephen Hawking wearing a blue apron and knocking out Fish, Chips & Curry Sauce on a tray ( with a plastic fork stuck in the fish) out of my head.

I think he would struggle with his wheelchair behind the counter of The Lobster Pot.

They change staff regularly - as do the restaurants in Chinatown - because the bulk of the staff are illegals. They work there for a few months under a false name and then just move on to wherever.

I used to work for an accountants up towards that end of town and we looked after a few of the restaurants. HMRC know all about it but turn a blind eye because getting information out of them (no speak english) is well nigh impossible.

The businesses are virtually all cash as well if you know what I mean. A nightmare for the Revenue so they don't bother.

And the Lobster Pot is shite - fit for human consumption only after you've spent 8 hours in the Blob Shop
