I was really positive this week about this game until I heard the news that Lucas is replacing Xabi today.

 

This is why people are so fucked off with Rafa. Why start with someone that has continually fucked up and put in lame performance after lame performance?

I have been really optimistic all week about this match, but if I dont see Alonso in the starting line up I have a feeling this will swiftly change as he links up so well with Gerrard compared to our other midfielders.

 

Lucas-Mascherano is a dreadful combination and Lucas has his habit to give away cheap silly free kicks and thats not something we need against the mancs who are deadly on set pieces.

It started before that mate, don't you remember how out of hand it was getting when they had Fat Ron from the Swan in charge? Amonia attacks, golf balls with nails in, darts etc? The FA Cup semi at Goodison was carnage.

I was quite confident until i read Alonso is more than likely out, we need his passing influence at the shithole. Lucas has to take his place, the lad is decent no more no less but i hope he cuts out the stupid stupid fouls that he constantly gives away.

I wouldn't worry about him getting sent off, it's only happened once and was VERY harsh IMO. Now giving away the odd free-kick, he does have form for that. What I'm worried about is that he'll just sit there and play the sideways passes and not make the late runs, not spread the play, not try the through balls that he can do but for some reason does all too little. He gets a lot of criticism, most of it BS IMO, but Vickery the South American correspondent mentioned him once and said his problem since he joined us has been "timidity" and to me that's it in a nutshell on occasions he's been so timid as to be a bystander. It's time to shit or get off the pot.
