don't know why people can't just post their nominations without passing judgement on others....I personally thought xabi was given the freedom of the pitch in the first half, there was nobody within twenty yards of him when he was receiving the ball most times and all he had to do was lay it off to the wide men who all did a very good job...in the second as soon as bolton started to press xabi was overrun and was pretty poor...but that's just my opinion so I won't abuse people that don't agree with it.

Could just as easily have put Agger, Dirk, Aurelio or Mascherano in the 2 and 3 positions. Xabi head and shoulders above everyone though for me.

Kuyt - Fantastic game. His work rate, his touch, his ability to keep a ball, his ability to bring other players into a game. And now he's added goals. He'll be player of the season for us.

 

Alonso - Great game, although watching Dion Dublin on Sky talking about how great a pass was by Alonso, when it was clearly Masch, was quite funny. Alonso back to his very very best now.

 

Masch - The tank. Non stop hundred miles an hour. Thank Christ he's ours. Brilliant.

I actually find this one difficult. No one really stood out for the whole match. In the first half Alonso and Kuyt and Riera would have been my pick. In the second I would have picked Gerrard, The chief and Agger probably. Gerrard was poor in the first, but like a new man when Torres came on. Alonso was poor for much of the second, giving the ball away too much, almost gifting a goal. Pepe was good throughout, but never really tested, so it`s hard giving him a vote.
