I voted for Pennant on the assumption that teh right mid is already filled (Stevie) with Xabi and Momo in the middle. Therefore, to spend a larger amount on another player seemed unnecessary. I'd rather spend the money on strikers.

 

Pennant is a bit of a risk, but he can whip a very good ball in. He will be a good squad man for us at around £4M. Some of the other wingers are better, but they would cost at least double, and they would expect to start more games too.

Serious question: who could come into the side and instantly improve upon the PFA Player of the Year? He's said himself in every interview he's done this week that he's had his best season and has loved the attacking role Rafa has given him. There is no-one in world football I'd want ahead of him on the right of our midfield - and I include people like Messi in that statement.

2) Giuly

3) Alves

 

I like that Gera very much though so whoever I bought in i'd go for him as well. He'd be a cracking squad player to have.

 

There are definitely a lot of possibilities for the right hand side this summer.

Was tricky choice though. But I think he offers the best crossing, goalscoring and set piece. Also is more versatile, can play on the right or the left or behind a striker.

Gera looks good and cheap. So does Pennant. We've got choices. We wont get one, lets face it. Rafa will keep making out we're weak in the position (Gerrard and Garcia??!!) until we win the league then he'll reveal we never needed one.

Ditto (only with Giuly spelt correctly ;)). Plus if we get SWP or another player of the same quality who expects to play most games, that will mean fewer starts for Momo, which is just plain wrong.

Pennant......anyone who does come in will have to play second fiddle to Stevie anyway.

 

Xabi and Momo will play the vast majoirty of games in the middle and we have the best right-winger in the world in our side who has just won player of the year playing there. Xabi and Stevie will play in the middle only against shite sides or at home against all but the top 4/5 clubs, just like this season.

 

We don't need an expensive world class proven right winger when we have Gerrard. We need someone who will be relativley cheap, happy to be rotated and give us different options. Pennant ticks all those boxes for me better than anyone else except maybe Milner.
