It's brilliant really  its irony on a base level but I love it. Do fuck all until its 5 to midnight in the transfer window then run around like you have been allowed in Threshers while the manager is cashing up, and get a banged up midfielder to augment a banged up midfield. It's genius really  and it just makes me glad we have this huge multi-faceted team covering all aspects of football in a detailed, holistic way to bring a scientific approach to back up the lads who cross the touchline come game time.

We apparently have loads of scouts watching all kinds of players in Europe and South America yet somehow we either can't identify any players good enough to replace or give competition to our existing players. But suddenly we can identify a player on the last day of the transfer window who is injury prone but free. But the FSG fanboy press will have you believe that he fits the very strict criteria that the recruitment team demand from every signing.

 

Meanwhile Real Madrid sign most of the best players from Brazil an even Brighton can identify players from Ecuador or Barcelona reserves who they can flog for massive profits. 

 

All our scouting seems to consist of is watching players who we will never bid for or young English players from Fulham who we can flog on for a profit if they don't work out.

Presumably our fantastic options are -

 

Terminate his loan contract now having paid five/six weeks wages plus a three/four million pound loan fee for 15 minutes of football. 

 

Or, pay a year's wages plus a three/four million pound loan fee for 15 minutes of football and the off chance of maybe managing to get another hour's football in shit substitute appearances between now and the end of the season. 

 

Whichever option we take I think it's undeniable that, as a club, we really are cleverer than everyone else.

Yep, we’re very possibly on the slide now and it’s coinciding with a lot of teams improving. Grim times, not enough was done when we were on top.
