Angels With Dirty Faces and Hound of The Baskervilles for me,but any others except Metropolis are great films too.

Angels With Dirty Faces and The Ladykillers but I could easily have selected The 39 Steps, Vertigo or Strangers On A Train. 
 

I do hope Angels With Dirty Faces makes it through. I’m sure there are purer cinematic masterpieces out there but I’ve loved this film since I was a kid.

Extremely tough group. Strangers on a Train is one of my favourite films of all time, so I had to vote for that. Vertigo is a masterpiece and arguably Hitchcock’s best film. However, The Ladykillers is another personal favourite of mine, so I went for that.

Just look at the poster for Vertigo. Even if you have never seen the film, it should get a vote for the poster alone.

 

Good job it is an absolute bona fide masterpiece as well.

Hurts a bit to vote against Lang's masterpiece, but Ladykillers beats it out (I prefer M as well, because Lorre). Vertigo the other obvious call.

I've gone for AWDF (the earliest example I know of of a genuinely ambiguous ending) and The Ladykillers (although Vertigo came close).

I agree with Vlad, you could pick any one of them.

I picked Angels With Dirty Faces, a brilliant film, but with both Cagney and Bogart, it couldn't be anything else really, and Vertigo. James Stewart in Hitchcocks best, again, a brilliant film.

I can’t really quibble with the two that have gone through but, as I said earlier, a bit disappointed to see Angels With Dirty Faces go out so early. 
 

I won’t spoil the ending, should anyone want to watch it for themselves, but the question posed would be an interesting discussion for the GF as it touches on all sorts of themes.

 

Anyway, it’s gone. I’ll get over it.

Vertigo is undoubtedly a fantastic film, many think it’s Hitchcock’s best. However, as good as it is, it’s not in my top 5, possibly 10, favourite Hitchcock films.
