I'm waiting to see if they go into the Donbas, or if they stop at what looks like the river, a natural defensive barrier.

 

Can they liberate territory the Russians took over in 2014?

 

Or do they want to do that? Is the population in that region too pro-Russian (now)?

Just under 150 million people in Russia. So his estimate of 15 to 25 percent being radicals is a sizeable chunk of people. Up to 37 million radicals that support total war etc.

Vladimir Nikolayevich Sungorkin, 68, was editor-in-chief of the Russian state newspaper, Komsomolskaya Pravda. According to the newspaper, Sungorkin died “suddenly” after showing signs of “suffocation” during the trip on Wednesday.

Sungorkin’s passing comes amid a string of mysterious deaths of top Putin allies this month. Most recently, Ivan Pechorin, aviation director for Russia’s Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, was reported dead after allegedly “falling from a boat” in Vladivostok, according to local Russian media outlets.

Fuck's sake. If we hadn't helped Ukraine none of this would have happened, I'm sure. It'd just have been a nice, orderly takeover of a neighbouring country by Russia and everything would have stopped there and been fine, just like it was after WW2.

Putin is on the naughty step with Xi and Modi over his disaster in Ukraine. Both are pissed off with him for different reasons. He’s going to be looking for a climb down, but how can Ukraine settle for anything less than “get the fuck out of our country” after the various war crimes committed by Putin’s gang of drunks, sadists and rapists?

Historically, protracted conflicts don't favour the invader, for obvious reasons.

According to twitter, the russian finance ministry has budgeted enough 'death in service payments' for another 134,000 of their troops to be killed in Ukraine. That doesn't include the thousands of DNR/LPR conscripts, PMC and the convicts they're press-ganging into the war. Putin's russia just doesn't give a fuck about their people - or any people for that matter.

the 50K losses on the Russian side does sound correct according to him, though it could be more since Wagner units and separatists aren’t counted amongst the people that get money from the state.

Don't think he actually says that, as I understand it, Tom thinks the money from the document (I think this is the one Neko mentioned, which may or may not be genuine) will not reveal the true figure because many will try to find ways to get to that money. I seem to remember him being in the casualties probably have the 1:1 ratio camp, as opposed to many that believe Russian are much higher than Ukrainian.

 

Anyway, he has also done a long interview for the "anti-woke" site Triggernometry. Go Tom.
