I assume it's the electorate's fault ?

Socialists (aka the ‘hard left’ as we now are). And probably Corbyn, the Bloefeld tribute act bastard.

Still, all will be well when Wes Streeting is in charge…

Our Rach doing the morning rounds for the Labour Party this morning I see and she's bang on form, as fucking dreadful as ever.

After this interview we will probably see the Railway workers join the ever expanding bracket of people who choose to fuck the Labour party off, they will be in good company, according to polls our NHS staff have already made the same decision.

I can only go by my own experiences with this stuff, but a lot of that patter really gets on my tits.

Having worked for a labour MP, been 'encouraged' to join the party, worked closely with two CLPs, shadow ministers, councillors, and elements of the party/Westminster apparatus, I can say with absolute conviction that it was usually the people with the biggest mouths who did the least work.

They weren't concerned with changing the lives of the electorate, they just wanted to win arguments and maintain their positions.

Labour is a bit like Everton football club. You're not judged by whether you're a good player or manager in terms of actual, quantifiable achievements, but in how well you connect with the most vocal elements of the angry mob by parroting keywords and dogma.

Reeves was twice asked a straightforward question, if she can't answer it she shouldn't be anywhere near the front bench. When you consider Labour is losing the support of people like NHS workers etc it's important.

That's the same answer comrade Streeting, the big ol' Stalinist, gave on BBCQT. I mean, it's fence sitting but all these fucking twitter links, I'm not sure who I'm actually replying to or what the views are.

You could ignore the messenger and focus your attention on clip provided of Reeves talking about the forthcoming Rail strike.

I did. In my first sentence. I’d seen both comrade Streeting on BBCQT and Darth Reeves in that clip before. They’re the same answer. RMT haven’t been connected to Labour for well over a decade. You can quite rightly support their right to strike whilst also thinking it’s wrong to strike at the moment.

Here is the bbc version, she's had a bit of practice and is aware the question is going to be asked but alas,

Best we just shoot the messenger.

She sounds like a fucking boring, moderate Tory. Which, presumably, is what she's going for.

' These employees, having been key workers and a bulwark against the covid epidemic, and finding themselves without a pay rise for 3 years while facing the cold wind of a shocking Tory cost of living crisis and an intransigent management, have been reluctantly forced to use the present Tory legislation to take perfectly legal steps to stop the erosion their working conditions'.

Fuck the focus groups and do your job.

BTW, the BBC and Sky’s characterisation of what Streeting said is just inaccurate. It’s one small part of his answer, which was basically the same as Reeves. It’s clearly Labour’s position on this, right or wrong. RMT are very quick to action, but they’re also just looking after their workers, so you can’t really blame them for doing what they exist to do. You also can’t blame people for being pissy when they actually do it.

No. Although how pissy they are can be at least partially framed by how political parties describe their actions.

How droll. Who is this obnoxious bollocks actually aimed at? Nobody here has put the blame on ‘the messenger’ for asking questions. What are you going on about?

You. You made a post moaning about twitter whilst ignoring the clip of Reeves. You focused on the messenger.

Here's the Sophie Ridge link direct, it's all over Sky. It doesn't get better with age.

It can, and I don’t think Labour have demonised them over this, when really they’re not affiliated with the RMT and they have pretty unreal conditions. I think all workers should have those conditions, and I think they’re right to make the argument that they’ve not had a rise in three years. The government should be the target for Labour and not the workers or the union. I think Labour have done that, but they also don’t want to be tied with strikes that shouldn’t really be happening yet.

You’re absolutely broken. I already had spoken about it. I didn’t say anything about the fucking messenger or them being at fault for asking questions. You and Roger were banging on about this ‘shooting the messenger’ bollocks long before i entered the conversation. Your comprehension levels make it incredibly difficult to have a coherent conversation with you.

I THINK REEVES IS A CUNT.

Now, in a minute when you call her ‘my gal’ again, I can just keep quoting that at you. You’re just so difficult. You’re a tweet aggregator, it’s so fucking tiresome.

Yes, agreed I don't think they demonised them and it is true that the RMT have been an immense union for their members. It makes it tricky to fully support them, and make the "everyone should have these conditions" argument without looking like mAGic MUNnY trEE lAybur.

And also it makes it really hard to support strikes, when lots of workers are unable to get to work and are asking ‘wait, how much are these fuckers earning?’ without thinking Labour are just twats. So… yeah, it’s not an easy position but I think they’re doing okay outside of the first interview with Reeves in which she sounds like she is chewing a bucket of nails.

Johnson is clinging on by his fingertips, a large chunk of his own party have said they want him out and his already tattered reputation is being dragged through the mud.

Polls are polls and aren’t always accurate. But, for Labour to have just a 2 point lead and for Starmer to be seen as a less favourable PM than the above is absolutely disastrous and shows just how bloody beige Starmer is.

That 2 point lead is in one poll. He’s 11 in another. Expect that to go up this week. If there’s somebody else better placed to win the election, I’m all for it. I’m just wondering who it is.
