We're not going to bum teams by 3 or 4 goals every week. Plus, they've defended well and plated well too. Even with that, we should've been 2 up with better finishing and composure.

Hard to know what that midfield does offer when they're offering fuck all going forward and Sheffield Utd are bypassing them with ease.

Game opened up after 30 minutes as they couldn't keep up the mad chasing around after that. Let's see how they manage another 45.

Trent's crosses have been poor. Robbo hasnt been much better, Gini isnt strong enough in these combative games imho. We've been far too slow and then the passes have been shit. It's a continuation of the Napoli game.

 

When we have speeded the game up, we've cut through them but it looked like we had a debate about who should take that shot on in the last few minutes of the half by which time Sadio was in such a position the angle was very tight.

 

This looks like a game for Origi's directness because this fannying about is doing nothing for Bobby, Mo and Sadio.

Not a great first half but we should still be a couple of goals to the good. Unfortunately mane is having a bad patch atm and making all the wrong decisions when going for placement or power. We desperately need a midfield player who can actually hit the target when taking on a shot, Wij and Henderson are woeful at that but add in other areas. I'm sure Klopp will change a few things tactically for the second half and I expect us to go on and grab the three points.

Fair enough they may tire but we should be showing a higher quality so far. On a good day they'd be running around chasing shadows. Poor passes/decisions/execution in key moments.

Lack of intensity compared to the opponent. The old "Liverpool know they're in a game" cliche is an eye-roller but it actually feels like we haven't realized they aren't just balling up in the fetal position.

Yes, credit to sheffield. Their players have worked hard and if they were any good at taking their chances, the game would have a very different complexion.

 

We need to improve the accuracy of our passes and crosses and speed up play. Every time the sheffield defence heads the ball out, we dont seem to have any players in and around that area.
