I was counting on the fact that I was going to get the call to go and play for Liverpool in defence but there's no way that would have happened if Gomez was returning. They waited until they had an excuse not to call me and then announced Gomez wasn't returning.

Haha, yeah that'd be about right. I was listening to that Neil Fitz podcast yesterday (I think it was that one anyway and not the football daily or something) and some fella who was on it (no idea who) said the injury was the bone just hasn't healed, which to me sounds really weird and I assume they'll have no real idea for a couple of weeks if it is mending.

We get Chamberlain & Gomez back in training at the same time City have Mendy, De Bruyne, Fernandinho & Stones returning. Kind of surmises the situation. Hopefully theyre both back fit for Madrid in June, anyway.
