Annoying as it is, Gomez is not a good defender. The problem is Terence Trent Darby isn't, either. (Difference being, he doesn't look like that's his natural position, anyway.)

Both are consistently targeted by opponents. For good reason.

Not to say one or both won't make it eventually, of course...

Ingerlund cunts. Pretty much a season ender.

It is a joke that these pointless, meaningless international friendlies are scheduled right at the business end of the season as teams have it all to play for.

Bad enough 1 of these shite games but they have 2 in a few days abd then the players have to play for their actual employers a few days later meaning 3 games in a week and with huge games in the cl etc on the horizon it shouldn't be allowed.

Fucking shite.

As for Clyne you don't miss the time he has and just come back into a side playing cl games and in a battle for top 4...i'd be amazed if we see him for any meaningful time before next season

Gomez did well against Sane. He’s got pace and strength and is very good at the 1v1. The weakness is a bit of positional stuff, and/or switching off at the back post. But he’s a good player, on the way to becoming very good, and we need him with all the games we’ve got coming up. Obviously not as important to us as the front three, or VVD, or Karius, or Mad Dog. But this wasn’t needed, at all.

Frustrating international friendlies at the business end of the season. It’s a joke, and enough to fight over and force some sort of change.

Play international games, all of them, in the summer. Every summer you are either qualifying for, or competing in an international tournament. Tack the games on at the end of the Prem season. Add a winter break and jobs a good un.
