Interesting Comments from Carra...

It can quite easily (and should) be classed as Gross Misconduct, which is a sackable offence.

Made, Bed, Lie.

Is it?

I'm not that familiar with the HR code of conduct for Sky, and unlike you i am not a Union rep.

Seems a bit specific having that in your contract!

Just watched the Sky News interview in full.

Fuck me that was painful watch.

I don't know who's decision it was (Sky, agent or his), but it would have been better for him not to appear on Sky News.

At the end of the day, there's no fucking defence for what he did, so it was a completely pointless exercise and it did him no favours.

Should he keep his job what he did? Of course not. Spitting at another human being is dispicable and the lowest of the low.

Do I think he will hang on to his job? Yes.

Why? Because Sky didn't terminate his contract with immediate effect like they should have done.

Agreed. I reckon if they were going to sack him he wouldn't have agreed to do that interview.

Depending on the nature of his contract, particularly if he's classed as an employee rather than self employed etc, they may not be able to just dismiss him without following the usual disciplinary procedure otherwise, irrespective of whether they have a legitimate reason to dismiss or not, failing to follow internal procedures may make a dismissal an unfair one.

I think he'll stay now. His colleagues seem to be sticking up for him, even Gary Neville.

Adam Johnson will be on TV text!

'Can't think of anything worse than spitting at a teenage girl'

Carragher will keep his job whilst sky don't lose money. The minute that is an issue he'll be gone. And personaly - I think that is the real disgrace.

Vinnie Jones weighing in on the incident now. "I would have chased him down and belted seven bells out of him for spitting at my daughter." So you'd put your daughter in that position first then? Carra is a dick, end of. But comments like this are completely nonsensical. I wouldn't put my daughter in the way of harm, this guy thought it funny to. They're both cunts and need sticking in stocks so we can spot and fling shit at them. Name and shame him too.

He made a mistake. No excuse. He fell short. Most of us have been there. Hopefully he experiences grace and forgiveness after apologizing and holding his hands up to his foul behavior.

The suspension by Sky seems fair enough. Hopefully they don’t dismiss him as that would seem an overreaction to me. I like Jamie Carragher and I hope there’s a way back from this for him.

As usual. We get common sense, and empathy from you!

Kirsty Gallacher still presenting on Sky despite being banned from driving for 2 years for being 3 times over the limit:

I don't remember her being suspended. Sky's double standards?

Terrible whatabouttery when Carra has no defence in his position.

As Joseph Prince would say, he hasn't fallen FROM grace, he has fallen INTO grace. He shouldn't lose his career, just a VERY stern word for his poor behaviour!

Carragher makes a living out of criticising other players footballing ability and also their behaviour. So he'll have to just knuckle down and accept the shit storm for a few weeks. It'll die down and he'll be back on SkySports, the suspension is Sky saving face, they'd have already sacked him if he wasn't coming back. Personally I couldn't give a shit either way, he follows the Sky agenda against us and doesn't even attempt to fight our corner.

Serious question but would they have to go through due process rather than knee jerk your out.

Should’ve spat on the female reporter. Literally there sticking the knife in when he’s trying his best to give an explanation

There is no explanation or excuse, and she's probably angry that he has'nt resigned. Which is why he is getting so much stick for ridingthe storm

He will be leaving by mutual consent in a few days. Sky wont want to be accused of knee jerk reactions but have no doubt he is toast, He'll get a few bob and a very small fig leaf for agreeing to go without a fuss, He's probably breached his contract in terms of unacceptable behaviour so doesn't have leg to stand on
