Poor decision I feel. led parry like Macca did up the garden path about sign a new contract at the end of the season. He hasn't got the club at his heart, he is just a greedy me, me, me.

He was a fantastic striker but a Sh--house of a person in my mind, can't forgive him or Macca and neither should the club.

Meh. I've never really been able to get that upset about Owen. Great player, and I should probably dislike him, but he's just so bland that I struggle to care. I think of him more like a robot boy, made without a soul, and desperate to find a club who'll love him.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with this, but that's part of the problem with making him an ambassador.  Need a player to take to Thailand or South Africa to open up some football academy that's affiliated with the club?  Fowler makes perfect sense, Barnes, there are loads that you could see connecting with foreign supporters and leaving a good impression of the club.

But Owen?  I can't see him making any enemies and offending anyone, but I can't really see him leaving any impression at all.  Imagine you're a Singaporean supporter and the club is going to announce a new sponsorship deal with a few former players.  It might be your only chance to see a Red legend, so you might think about making the effort to attend - but if you found out it was Owen I can't see any other reaction than "Meh, never mind."

It pisses me off the more I think about it, we have proper LFC legends broke and they are selling their medals to get by and the club decides to pay a traitor who cost the club millions.

Something has to be done to get Owen sacked, this is fucking ridiculous and it's one of the worst decisions I have seen the club make.

Personally I find it difficult to be get angry at Michael Owen over this because, well, he's Michael Owen.  He's always been extremely self involved, it's why he's never had a connection with the fans at any of the clubs he's played for.

I'm angry and disappointed at the club though.  Why someone thought it'd be a good idea to hand Owen a role, regardless of how insignificant, is beyond me.  He has zero sentiment for Liverpool Football Club, surely if there was a vacancy the position could of been filled by an ex-player who has a genuine passion for the club.  There are plenty out there.

For me, his failed status is not just about going to the mancs which obviously was a shit thing to do and severed ties, but long before that, the way he left to RM in the first place, said he'd be signing a new contract, allowed us next to no money for one of the best strikers in Europe and showed he was more bothered about himself and his England career than us.

In short, I stopped liking the prick long before he had anything to do with United and he can get to fuck.

In a nutshell.
