Joe Allen

That is a good picture - I'd love to know what he's smiling at.

I think he will leave at the end of the season, despite getting offered a new contract.  I wish him well, he's a good player.

He smiles when he wants,

He smiles when he waa---nnnts,

He's Joe Jesus Allen,

He smiles when he wants.

Agreed. I really like Allen, and think he can play a substantial part of a winning midfield but he's not somebody you build a midfield around. He's a player you add to a solid, exprienced midfield.

I like how we are using him now, filling in when needed, him playing with enthusiasm. If he is happy to do that, I would keep him for that role. If he wants to be a nailed on starter each week, I wouldn't begrudge him looking elsewhere. That's about the state of it.

He's done well recently but he's a squad player for me. I would start Can ahead of him and even Henderson when he's fit and in form. And we have to assume Jurgen is going to sign at least one quality central midfielder this summer. Considering Milner also likes playing in the centre, it looks like Allen's days are numbered.

I'm not Allen's biggest fan but I'd always have him ahead of Milner in a central midfield role. Milner has done brilliantly lately but from a wider role and is probably our best crosser too.

Jurgen knows.

His attitude has been first class and his performances too have been to a really good standard. But i wouldnt be surprised if he left in the summer.

In a great midfield, he would be a squad player. And i assume Klopp will build a magnificent midfield in the next year or 2.

Also id presume his fitness and form for the European championships is helping him play better now too.

He was dominant again today - and the boss appreciates it.

In the meeting today I said it would be cool if we could play ‘Joe Allen football’ – brilliant technique, hard-working, very lively, very energetic. He is a great player. In good teams with more good players than you need, you have situations like this [rotation]. But he takes the situation brilliantly, he is a wonderful boy and professional football player. That’s really good. Today without Joe would have been completely different. So I’m completely fine with him.
