It's very noticeable now what the TV money is doing. Most of what we'd consider mid-table Premiership sides all have some excellent, technically capable players in their teams now.

 

Yes having seen nearly 75 minutes of the seasons first game it's safe to say the landscape of football has irrevocably changed forever.

Arsenal seem to be the closest role model for how Rodgers would like to play. As we can see, it is an approach that can sometimes be upended by power and directness. Still, they'll go and beat the shitty sides with ease, something that we could try to emulate more often.

 

I reckon 90% of fans would ideally like their teams to play like Arsenal (at their best), but when push comes to shove, most would be take parking the bus to win the league.

Arsenal lost. Spurs lost. Chelsea drew. We won. Nice start to the season there. 

 

Man Utd spawned a win as Spurs rolled over after a bright start. But unless Man Utd sign a top class striker I think they may struggle to get top four. Probably see Screech up front for them again soon enough.
